The story is simply put, your journey starts out with a task you have to complete for a king, this task consists of finding 7 existing runes through out the wolrd, each giving its owner different powers for different runes. Your adventure ends when you give them to the king. Even if it doesn't make a difference in how the story is told you get to chose from 7 different characters, each different in aspect, combat skills and so on...
The graphics are a little poor, the character's movement is a little too dull, but the sprites for the characters have a good detail. During the battle sequence the sprites are magnified to the point to where the pixels are really noticeable, but i got to give it a point for the backround during these, it maches exaclty to where your location is at
Pretty much none of the music is good, with some exceptions, but the effects used for actions in the battle interface are good and seem to fit just right.
Its actually simple enough, menus are opened by pressing a button blah blah... Oh and to help you out you got this really neat Orb radar that tells you where random-turn based battles are to ocur. Monsters are simbolized by blue dots so if it gets to the center of the orb you got a fight coming up. I got to say that the best part of the game may not the graphics, but maybe this feature perhaps makes up for it. Plus all of the battle itnerface is done from a third person point of view (meaning that you can see you're enemy and the horizon from your characters back).
Its a wild chase trying to find the runes that are vital to the story in this game, to do that you have to talk to the vast number of people of the world, they give you hints of what your next challenge is or what you have to do now. There are numerous weapons, spells and items you can obtain making this game a little less hard on you. Since you get to choose from 7 characters the other 6 will stop at nothing to get to the runes first, so some will join you on your way or some will try to kill you and take a way your gold and runes.
Overall its a good game, and I assure you that you will pull your hair with this one, its difficult to the point that you'll want to get a guide or something to help you out...
