Well, here it is! A review on FFX, which I'm sure, many people has waited for. Well wait no longer my friends! :). How to even start this thing off. First off, FFX is BY FAR, one of the greastest additions to the Fantasy line. It has so many features, options, and freedom, that it just has to be talked about!
The graphics in FFX, are simply breathtaking. When I first played this game, I didn't even think I was playing anything, I actually thought I was involved in some sort of movie. Also, the game was very colorful and bright, I might add :). Cinematic cut scenes were simply astonishing, and there were actually quite a few of them! On graphics, there is not really much to say. I did not notice any flaws. Once again, there are two words to describe the graphics......breath taking.
The story, like every other Final Fantasy, is pretty intriguing. Basically, Final Fantasy X is about a summoner named Yuna and her quest to destroy a mysterious force known as "Sin". You must guide the main character, Tidus, through the many events of the game, while also picking up many characters to help you along your quest to destroy "Sin". And of course, like every other RPG, there is always going to be one character that just gets under your skin. But other than that, two thumbs up to the story line. :)

The music in this game was very awsome. Every track fit the game just perfect! The game had its sad moments, scary moments, and also its happy ones! And all of these times, were selected with just the right song :). I even went as far as buying the soundtrack CD! haha. The sound was another plus in this game. I LOVED the character voices! Every one of them went so good with their places! I was very impressed with this aspect of the game. The only thing I really have to complain about though, is they sound and mouth animation. Squaresoft did kinda screw up on this one. Whenever a character talked, the sound was not really followed by the animation of the character's mouth every now and then. NOW, sometimes it was, but again, it was very rare. But seeing how this was one of Square's story talking games, I won't complain further :).
The gameplay is something to brag about for sure! Firstly, I loved how 80% of the game was narorrated in Voice instead of Text Boxes, haha. *Yeah i'm lazy!* That was a big plus in this game. The battle engine was also great! It had the same style as the classic Fantasy engines, but what I loved the most was, that on your screen, you could see whose turns were coming up. Yes, FFX is turnbased, no time, straight up turn based, and I loved it. It let you think and strategize on things you needed to do or wanted to do. Then of course, you could always use your strategy guide, YOU BIG CHEATER!!!! The mini-games, were fun as always :). But, this time, they made alot of the mini-games, actually interact with quests in the story. So, they were actually USEFUL, instead of just straight up wasting your time, haha! I would mention some, but I don't wanna spoil anything for anyone that has not played this game, hehe. FFX, ofcourse, has the same old "random battle" engine, where you randomly walk around to look for fights. Another aspect to FFX that I really loved was its "sphere grid level system". Character skill and attribute development are raised exclusively on the Sphere Grid. You do not grow powerful, due to the classic leveling up, instead, you earn certain type's of "spheres" off enemies you defeat and use them to power you up on your grid :). I like this alot, because you can actually customize your character. For say, I didn't want my sword guy to be a sword guy, INSTEAD, I'm gonna make him a battle mage!!! HOW YA LIKE 'DEM APPLES?! Yeah, and things like that :D. Another min-game that co-interacts with the story, is BlitzBall!!!! WOOOHOOOO. This is a side of Final Fantasy, which I have NEVER SEEN. It's always been card games or chocobo related things, lol. This is an actual sport you get to play, so to all you Sport Game players, you get the best of both worlds! And BlitzBall is also used for a mini-quest in the game...but guess what, I WONT TELL YOU WHAT IT IS!! This isn't a strategy guide!!! It's a review!! Shame on you *tisk* *tisk*. I really loved the freedom in this game as well, such as Weapon Making :). Yes, you heard me, you can actually customize weapons and put special properties on them!!! And the same goes to Armor! For example, I picked up a Bronze Sabre, and I want to make it an undead killer. I add the item that gives it "Undead KIller" properties, slap a Fire elemental property on it, maybe throw on some Strength bonus properties on it, then wa-la! I got me an Uber Sword of Undead Arse Kickin! However, there was an actual flaw in the gameplay I thought. Just like every other Final Fantasy, you get an airship of some sort that lets you travel around the globe. Well, instead of actually traveling, you pick out destination spots, and you "fly" there, when in reality, you teleport lol. You don't even see yourself traveling, bah! humbug!!!
Overall, FFX has it all, sound, gameplay, a good story line, music, and of course graphics. But like any other RPG, there is ALWAYS going to be a couple of flaws. I HIGHLY suggest you to go and buy this game, or just borrow it from a friend FOR A LONG TIME :D. You will be glued to your seat or couch, or whatever you play your video games on, lol, and will be playing this game for hours on end. So, enjoy your quests, and have a happy journey in FFX!
