Final Fantasy Legend

Review by Dark_omen

As always, Squaresoft has come up with some of the best rpgs ever, this game is not the exeption. It might sound familiar at first (Final Fantasy), but its actually a different series overall. The game was originally released in Japan as "SaGa" (sound familiar now?) and is the first game of the series on gameboy.

The whole concept of the story is really hard to understand, it talks about the world having a tower in the center of the world that connects to other dimensions and other worlds and finally Paradise, it says that "many have braved the journey, none have come back, but here is another one that thats up for the trip"... Its talking about you, if you didn't get it at first. Well the story explains that, and thats pretty much the clear part of the story, the rest well, you have to guess some stuff out on you're own.

The graphics aren't really impresive, except for the battle animations, the terrain detail is simple but good enough to know what it is. Like in much of the rpgs at the time, the characters took a small amount of space on the screen, in this case a square unit of it. The battle sequence is good even if you only see the enemy in front of you're party, it has awesome magic/weapon/item animation.

The sound is good, really varied sound effects for different actions in and out of battle, the music is really good and varies from chapter to chapter in the game this way it doesn't get anoying.

You only walk, talk, fight so it isn't too complicated. The menus aren't complicated at all either, the battle system is turn based. Actually the thing i found most hard of the game was trying to figure out what some really weird items were used for in the game other than that, worry more about trying to understand the story.

Lots of weapons, items and attacks for this one, also you get to choose from 3 different species of the world, male or female mutant, male or female human, and an endlessly- shapeshifting monster. The only bad thing about this is that civilans and some enemies look exactly like you're characters in map mode, but oh well.

Well, what can I say, remember that this game was developed by Square, so almost naturally its a good RPG
